Meet Dr. Lindsey
Hey, friends! I’m Dr. Lindsey Koerich, DDS MS, co-owner and orthodontist at Koerich Orthodontics.
A Granite Falls native, I earned my Biology degree and DDS with honors at UNC-Chapel Hill, completed an AEGD at Columbia University, and returned to UNC for a three-year Master’s degree and Orthodontic Residency.
Today I combine research-driven techniques with true Southern hospitality to help families in Charlotte, Indian Trail, and Monroe smile with confidence.
Landing my “dream residency” at UNC opened my eyes to the power of cone-beam CT and long-term smile stability. The studies I co-authored on CBCT super-imposition and facial aesthetics, published in journals such as the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics, still guide every plan I create, because straight teeth should feel as good as they look .
Growing up where porch-wave friendship was the norm (and watching my dad teach dentistry at UNC) taught me that kindness counts as much as credentials. You’ll feel those roots the moment you walk in: a down-to-earth listening ear and a care plan built around your goals, whether that’s clear aligners before a wedding or braces for a budding teenage athlete.
Along the way I’ve been honored seven times as a Charlotte Magazine “Top Dentist” (2014, 2015, 2017–2021) and received the American Academy of Operative Dentistry award for clinical excellence. Even so, the compliments I cherish most are the 1,000-plus five-star reviews our practice has earned across three locations, each one a story of new-found confidence.
Orthodontics is my happy place. I love the puzzle-solving, the energy our patients bring, and the “big reveal” when someone sees their new smile. To keep things fresh, I spend many weekends in continuing-education courses so you always have the latest, most comfortable options. Off the clock you’ll find me running local trails, flowing through yoga, testing a new recipe, or planning our next family road-trip adventure.

Meet Dr. Leo
Hi folks! I’m Dr. Leonardo “Leo” Koerich, DDS MS, co-owner and orthodontist at Koerich Orthodontics.
I earned my dental degree in Brazil at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, completed a research fellowship in 3-D imaging at UNC–Chapel Hill, and finished a two-year Orthodontic Residency at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. To serve patients in the United States, I later obtained a second DDS through Virginia Commonwealth University’s International Dental Program, graduating top of my class on the Dean’s List.
Today I blend data-driven digital diagnostics with warm Southern hospitality to create confident smiles for families in Charlotte, Indian Trail, and Monroe.
Landing that UNC fellowship opened my eyes to how cone-beam CT could transform orthodontics. The project I started there, later honored with the AJODO Helen & B.F. Dewel Best Clinical Research Award, still guides every plan I design, because precision means faster, more comfortable results.
I grew up in island-city Florianópolis, where weekend soccer and marathon barbecues were family traditions. Those roots remind me that great care starts with listening. Whether you prefer low-profile clear aligners or sport-friendly braces, we’ll create a plan that fits your life. (Fun fact: that UNC fellowship is also where I met Dr. Lindsey, proof that orthodontics really can change your life!)
Since then I’ve authored 25-plus peer-reviewed papers and three textbook chapters on CBCT, airway health, and accelerated tooth movement, and I’ve presented those findings at national and international orthodontic meetings. Still, the feedback I value most comes from the 1,000-plus five-star reviews families have shared across our three locations.
Orthodontics blends science and art, and I love both. From the “aha” of cracking a complex 3-D diagnosis to the high-five when braces come off, this work never gets old. On weekends you’ll find me coaching my kids’ soccer drills, perfecting Brazilian BBQ, or grabbing pastries at the local bakery. Wherever I am, the goal is the same: engineer smiles that brighten life’s big and small moments.
