The first step in that process is scheduling an orthodontic evaluation with us. This initial consultation is one of the most important appointments you’ll have with us! It gives us the chance to get to know a bit about each other, listen to your concerns, and answer any questions you may have. Like anything new, this can leave you feeling a little nervous, but we do our best to ensure a stress-free experience for you! Your orthodontic evaluation
Upon arriving at our office, you’ll be warmly greeted and introduced to a few members of our talented team. We’ll give you a brief tour to help you feel more comfortable with your surroundings, then sit down to discuss your medical and dental history. Following this, we’ll take some digital images and Invisalign scan photographs and x-rays for our diagnostic records. Once these are complete, Dr. Leo or Dr. Lindsey will perform a thorough examination of your mouth.
Our doctors use the diagnostic records and exam information we collect to diagnose any issues and develop a customized treatment plan. These records are also used to track the progress of your teeth as they move. We always want you to feel confident in our expert care and want to ensure you understand each step of the orthodontic process as we go. You should never feel rushed, especially not during this appointment! You can expect to spend about an hour with us for your initial evaluation, giving us plenty of time to discuss:
- any orthodontic issues we find
- what treatment options we have available to correct the problem
- an estimate of how long we expect your treatment to take
- the total expected cost of treatment
- any payment or financing options we have available to you

Once you’ve decided on a treatment plan with Dr. Leo or Dr. Lindsey, we’ll walk you through everything it includes. Every patient has specific needs and will respond to treatment in their own way, so the total costs will vary from case to case. We’ll make sure you understand the investment needed for your new smile in detail before we move on to the active phase of treatment!

The next step in your orthodontic journey
Once your consultation is complete, we’ll schedule your first appointment Sometimes we can do all in the same day!. This is typically when your braces will be placed or you will receive your first aligner. It will take about an hour, and you’ll receive your own orthodontic care kit. You’ll also have access to our team should you have any questions or concerns about what’s happening. We do everything we can to make this appointment as comfortable and relaxed for you as possible!
Regular follow-up visits are an essential part of the treatment process. Depending on your treatment plan, you’ll be scheduled to see your doctor every 6-10 weeks or so. We’ll check that everything is progressing as it should be and adjust your appliance if necessary during these appointments. If you’re wearing braces, the wire may be changed at this time as well.
We try to schedule appointments for a day and time that are convenient for you, but we know that things sometimes happen that may cause you to run late or miss your appointment. If this occurs, we simply ask that you let us know as soon as possible so we can reschedule. This will keep your treatment plan on track!
