Orthodontics for Children
Dr. Lindsey, Dr. Leo, and our team at Koerich Orthodontics will treat your children like our own by giving them the best possible orthodontic care.
The American Association of Orthodontists, Dr. Lindsey and Dr. Leo all recommend that your child should get their first orthodontic evaluation at the first sign of orthodontic problems, or no later than age seven.
Your child's teeth have developed enough by this age to allow our expert doctors at Koerich Orthodontics to detect subtle problems with emerging teeth and jaw growth before your child loses all of their baby teeth.
Phase One treatment for younger children typically ages seven to nine. It can correct bite and jaw issues. Phase One treatment can also help to make room for the permanent teeth to come in properly and reduce the chances that any extractions will be needed later.
Early treatment at our offices in Indian Trail and Charlotte may prevent or intercept more serious problems from developing and may make treatment at a later age shorter and less complicated.
In some cases, Dr. Lindsey and Dr. Leo can achieve results that may not be possible once your child’s face and jaws have finished growing.
Orthodontics for Teens
Phase Two treatment takes place between the ages of 11 and 15 since teens have most of their permanent adult teeth by then. The treatment usually consists of braces to help train a straight smile.
Experienced doctors like Dr. Lindsey and Dr. Leo can easily recognize orthodontic issues with spacing, crowding, bite, and alignment in this age range.
Your teen’s bone and jaw structure are developed enough to allow orthodontic treatment to begin at this time as well.
Teenagers are sometimes concerned about the appearance of braces, so we’re happy to offer a wide range of options at Koerich Orthodontics, including Invisalign clear aligners, metal braces, or clear ceramic braces.
Orthodontics for Adults
You’re never too old to benefit from orthodontic treatment, and that’s why we serve adults at Koerich Orthodontics.
Believe it or not, your teeth don’t stop moving after the teen years. Teeth that seemed straight and aligned in youth could have shifted later in life. This can lead to jaw pain, trouble brushing, or a smile you’re unhappy with.
If you leave misaligned teeth untreated, you may end up with other dental problems such as tooth decay and gum disease. You may also notice abnormal wear on the surface of your teeth or that it’s difficult to chew normally.
Dr. Lindsey and Dr. Leo can address these issues and more through orthodontic treatment, giving you the healthy smile you’ve always dreamed about. We can correct orthodontic problems at Koerich Orthodontics just as easily for adults as for children.
A new smile can give you more confidence and dramatically improve your self-esteem at any age. We treat a number of adult patients at Koerich Orthodontics, so please get in touch if you’d like to know more about the treatments we can offer.
Why Should You Think About Orthodontic Treatment?
Straight Teeth Are Healthy
After Dr. Lindsey or Dr. Leo aligns your teeth correctly, it’s easier for you to clean them through regular flossing and brushing.
This helps prevent other oral issues, including problems affecting your overall health.
A Straight Smile Builds Confidence & Self-Esteem
Successful orthodontic treatment at Koerich Orthodontics can help boost your self-confidence, create a better quality of life, and allow you to smile freely for maybe the first time.
Untreated Oral Issues Will Get Worse
If you refuse or delay orthodontic treatment when Dr. Lindsey or Dr. Leo recommends it, you may develop long-term health issues that may end up costing you more.
At Koerich Orthodontics, our team understands that teens, kids and adults all have different dental needs, so we give each age group personal care.
We’ll work diligently for you to make sure you receive the most appropriate treatment at our inviting offices in Charlotte and Indian Trail.
